Beauteque Box: Product Review

Today’s post is going to be a review and look at the latest Beauteque box mainly due to the fact it has been my most liked yet and was full of products I love and needed. It also arrived on my birthday so that was an extra treat for me!

I’m going to jump right in as there is quite a bit to get through and it is all so good.

Beauteque

Cute Moose Headband ($7.99/£6.25)

I have been meaning to buy a headband to keep my hair out of the way during washing or applying a mask so this was perfect.

The band is nice and firm and fits comfortably without being too tight. The material is nice and soft so there is no damage done to the hair and the band has cute ears and antlers so is very adorable.

Esfolio Green Tea Facial Cleansing Tissue ($8.00/£6.25)

I was so glad to see these in my monthly box as I have been in desperate need for cleansing wipes.

esfolio

The Esfolio packet contains 20 cleansing tissues of reasonable size. The Green Tea ingredient helps remove excess oils and leaves a fresh feel to the skin. For a tissue they are quite thick and not as easy as expected to rip or break.  I will be keeping these for on the go when I need an emergency clean up as they are quick to use and dispose of.

Cos. W Collagen Eye Zone Mask ($6.99/£5.47)

On first look I was a little bit disappointed as these little eye patches replaced the usual three step mask in the box but once I had a proper look and used the product the disappointment soon evaporated.

I have four favourite products from the box this month and the Cos. W eye masks are one of them. The eye patches come in a resealable packet which contains 15 pairs so there is plenty of usage for the price.

Each pair are really easy to separate from the others despite the fact they are saturated in the Green Tea and papaya extract (designed to help with signs of ageing). They place really well under the eyes with ease and fit almost perfectly . Once left for 15-20 minutes you can remove and throw away so there is little mess.

I have really loved using these as they leave my under eye feeling tighter whilst giving a boost in hydration. The patches are so quick and easy to use, they are like a mini pamper session for when your pushed for time.

Bergamo Luxury Caviar Wrinkle Care Cream ($24.99/£19.56)

I have been using this every evening since the moment I received it and I am in love. I have quite a bit of texture to my skin in places and Caviar induced products can help with this as well as fine lines.

The product information states to use as the last step to your evening routine. The cream light and easy to apply. It doesn’t feel heavy, especially as I normally apply mine after using a night moisturiser. Over the past few weeks of using I have been waking up to my skin feeling a lot firmer and an improvement in the texture.

From this months subscription it was another one of my absolute favourites and a product I will repurchase.

Botanic Farm Soft Cover Pore Balm Primer ($18.00/£14.08)

Honestly how can you get so many good products in one box!

Botanic Farm

As I said previously I have textured skin in places and also suffer from large pores and the Botanic Farm primer has been a god send. So much so that I have been wearing it alone without make up purely because it minimises my pores so well and helps even out the texture.

As the product is a balm it is firm in the jar so I tend to use a beauty blender to pick up the product and then apply to my face with the blender. It puts me in mind of other more expensive primes such as the Benefit Dr Feel Good (£26.00) and leaves my skin feeling velvety.

When using this with foundation it has worked very well (the foundation sitting nicely with the primer). I have had no major issues and my pores have continued to appear minimised.

This will be added to the list of repurchases although I think the jar I have will be lasting a while due to the amount you need for application and the 0.71 ounces supplied.

The Saem Semi Pro Multi Colour ($7.99/£6.25)

The Semi Pro Multi Colour is described as a little pot of pigment that can be used on the lips, cheeks or eyes. The colour I have is 19 Scarlet and a little pot of pigment colour she is. This is bold and I really like it.

You need to be very light handed with these as the colours are so strong. There are tips to mix them with other make up products to achieve different colours and looks which is probably what I will be doing mostly.

The Saem

I really like the packaging resembling a small paint tube as that is how the product looks and performs. When used on their own these do have a strong transfer and are a little difficult to remove but for me when it has that strong a colour pay off it is worth it.

Hope you enjoyed my little review of this months Beauteque box. Each product included in the box is full sized and the links provided are for the individual product but below I will put a link for the box itself. Let me know your thoughts and feelings in the comment section  or if you have any other subscription boxes you love.

Beauteque Box Monthly Subscription : A Review

Beauteque Beauty Box
All six items from the August Beauteque box

It’s that time of month where I have received and worked my way through the Beauteque monthly subscription box. This month’s has a Kawaii theme and as you can imagine everything has a cute, pretty packaging but do they work?

Milatte Fashiony Fruit Soothing Gel ($14.99/£11.40)

One of my favourite products in this months box. I like that they used a soothing gel rather then a cream as it absorbs into the skin so quickly it is so much less hassle.

The gel itself is a transparent red and is meant to be water melon scented although this is rather faint. I enjoyed using as it glides on easily, is absorbed quickly and leave your skin feeling very refreshed. It has a cooling/ soothing effect on the skin which is very nice. I would imagine this would be great on sunburn as it really does settle the skin of any irritations. After use my skin feels softer and fully moisturised.

The bottle is 200g (full sized) and is going to last for ages. The soothing gel is perfect for using post shower as a quick way to put moisture back into the skin and feel soothed and refreshed without waiting ages for a product to dry down.

Tony Moly Magic Food Banana Hand Milk ($10/£7.60)

One of the “cult – favourites” if your a fan of Tony Moly, this hand milk has the cutest packaging ever (my kids love it). When first applied the scent of banana is quite strong but this does ease once the product starts to dry.

Not one of my preferred hand milks as I do like to use a thick cream and this formula is a lot less intense. The cream melts into the hands quickly without leaving a sticky residue and is also non greasy so you can use your hands again quickly after use.

Due to the drop in temperature and the sharp breezes my hand quickly become chapped and dry at this time of year and I don’t feel this made an major differences or changes to my skin. I will be sticking to my thicker based cream for hand care.

CC Mint Coin Tissue ($4.99/£3.79

Such a great idea and ideal for travelling or just to keep in your handbag for on the go. The plastic tube contains seven soft fabric tissues that unfold when you add a few drops of water.

Once expanded I was surprised buy the size and quality of the tissue, it is a lot less brittle then I thought it would be and is actually quite tough. They can be used for make up removal or just general washing of the body (much like a wet wipe) and then disposed of.

Each coin is engraved with the word ‘coin’ on one side and ‘made in Korea’ on the other which I though was a nice little touch to the detailing.

When I first saw these had been included in the monthly box I was a little underwhelmed but they have come in so handy and I like how easy the are to carry around without taking up much space in your bag.

The Saem Saemmul Single Blusher ($6.99/£5.32)

The coral coloured blush is nice and a colour that I would normally use. I always find it really difficult to give opinions on a blush as I find as long as it does what it’s meant to there is not much else to say.

The packaging is pretty basic and not something that is going to wow but the formula is soft and easy to use without there being much fall out. As far as blushes go it works well.

For the price The Saem single blush is 0.80 ounces in size which is reasonable but there are others available for the same quality and less of the price from high street brands such as Make up Revolution.

Mermaid Makeup Brush ($12.99/£9.88

Another super cute looking item. This make up brush is one of the softest I own, I really really like it. The bristles have been very nicely packed together so the brush is not too dense and has great movement. I like the tapered shape and for a synthetic brush it is good quality with no fraying or loose hairs.

The handle is plastic but still has a bit of weight to it for a better grasp. Due to the Mermaid shape this does take up a bit of room in a brushes bag or holder. Although due to the shape and look of the brush I will be putting mine on display at my vanity anyway.

JM Solution Marine Luminous Pearl Deep Moisture Mask ($5/£3.80

If you have read my Beauteque reviews before you would know this is my favourite item in each box. Since getting my first one four months ago a three step mask has now become “my thing”.

The first step of this particular one is the marine water full essence which you apply before the sheet.  The formula provides the skin with a boost in hydration and contains hyaluronic acids which is always good. The sachet is 1.5ml in size which is more then enough to cover your whole face before applying the sheet.

After application of the sheet mask and the 15-20 minutes wait step three contains a marine all face and eye cream that can be applied all over the face and neck but also to the more sensitive eye are. Again this is 1.5ml so you will be able to cover both your face and neck generously. This does take quite a few minutes to sink into the skin (about half an hour) but once it became completely dry I was so pleased with how my skin looked and felt. I have never had it feeling so plumped and hydrated, It looked so supple and glowy. The hyaluronic acid really helped to replenish and revitalise my skin so it appears smoother and more youthful. I will be purchasing this particular mask again.

Have you seen anything available in this box that you have taken a liking to? Have you used any of the products mentioned before and have a different view? I’d love to know your opinions and view point. Comment down below and we can start discussing.

Next post will be available Friday.

Beauteque Monthly Subscription Box : Product Review

Beauteque Monthy : Product Review
A look at all six products available in Beauteque Monthly beauty box

Another month down and another arrival of surprises from my Beauteque beauty box. This month has been slightly different from previous, including body and hair care as well as the usual skin care and make up. This months theme was a brunch menu style and each product has amazing fruity smells that are good enough to eat. So lets take a look at the products.

Hair Care

Mise – En – Scene Perfect Repair Hair Treatment Serum $15 / £11.61

I have been needing to invest in a hair treatment for some time after dyeing the life out of my hair recently so this was a much needed product to gain from my Beauteque box. The Serum has been great to incorporate more moisture back into my hair. The formula contains both argan and olive oil which have helped to repair the damage dyeing has caused. The consistency is similar to a condition, easy to run through your hair and concentrate on the ends. I have also been using a shower cap to help intensify the treatment.

My hair has been left soft and shiny. I have been able to get a brush through it without having to fight against knots due to the added hydration it has given my locks. Due to the serum having a apricot scent my hair smelt great after use which is an added bonus.

Body Care

The Saem Perfumed Body Lotion $12.99 / £10.06

The Saem Body lotion was a nice little addition to the box. It follows the theme of the hair serum and is also apricot scented. I normally don’t use a scented body lotion as they can irritate my skin but this one is kind and gentle. I had no irritation and my skin was left feeling soft and moisturised. I really like the consistency of the formula. It is one of the lightest body lotions I’ve ever used, very thin almost like a water based cream. My skin absorbed the cream instantly so there was no waiting around for it to dry before getting dressed (which lets be honest is the most irritating thing about body lotions).

Skin Care

Skin7teen T, Cafe Katte 3 – Step Mask $5.99 / £4.64

My favourite part of the Beauteque Beauty box is the three step mask I’m going to be getting. The skin7teen lives up to expectations and then some.

Step on and two target different area of the face such as T-zone and jawline and then you just pop the sheet mask over the top for 15- 20 minutes. The T-zone section is for targeting large pores and helping to reduce and tighten them whilst the U-zone is for adding hydration. This was great for my combination skin as my forehead nose and chin are often where I have enlarged pores. My cheek area is often where I experience the most dryness so by the mask targeting the areas with two different products was very helpful.

Hint: I wish I had read the little booklet that comes inside the box as it states if you place the mask in the fridge for ten minutes before use it can be quite refreshing to the skin during use.

This has been my favourite mask I have received from Beauteque, I will be buying again as my skin felt fantastic after use. My pores appeared reduced, the hydration left my dry patches much smoother and I all round loved using Skin7teen’s sheet mask.

Saresmin Perfect Solution Serum $8.99 / £6.95

Saresmin Serum
A look at the packaging of the Saresmin Serum

Saresmin’s serum has some funky packaging. The serum comes in a medical style syringe which allows you to measure the amount of product you are dispensing. Guidelines say to use 0.5ml of liquid for just the face area and 1ml for the face and neck area. Due to the packaging this is easily done.

The formula contains hyaluronic acid which is great for helping the skin maintain its moisture levels. It is a water based solution that is absorbed by the skin quickly so no waiting around before moisturising. This gave real changes in my textured areas of skin. Bumps and lumps looked smoother, almost plumped up. It left for a really good base for applying make up later on.

The only qualm I have is the size of product. It is 5ml and if using the guided amount of 1ml for each application you will only have this for five uses. I would love to see this in a bigger size or a purchase option of a four pack available.

Sandepin My Honey Clean Sponge Cookie $6.99 / £5.41

Sandepin Sponge Cookie
Such a fluffy texture on the Sandepin Sponge Cookie

I’m not going to go into loads of detail on this because it is a sponge. The Sandepin sponge cookie has a soft, fluffy texture great for make up and dirt removal. It is very gentle on the skin and non irritating. One of the main things I like about this sponge is it can be gently washed and has a usage count of up to 200 times.

Make Up

Baviphat Urban City Real Liptone Tint $7.99 / £6.18

Baviphat liptone Lip Tint
The cute apple packaging on the Baviphat Liptone lip tint is super cute

The packaging on this is really cute. The bottle is a little apple with the lid being the stalk and the tint is even apple scented to continue the theme.

Personally I am not a big fan of tints as I prefer a bolder look. Baviphat’s however is a nice colour (Rosewood) red, leaves a subtle tint to lips that has great stain power that will last throughout the day. I found application rather difficult as the applicator is very small and the tint is very thin in consistency. I experienced a bit of bleeding on the lip line although this may be down to me not have much of a clue in applying tints properly.

There you have the six products I received in my Beauteque beauty box this month and my thoughts and feelings on each one. Are there any that stuck out for you? Am I doing lip tint application wrong (haha)? I’d love to hear your thought and feelings in the comment section so feel free to let me know.

I have linked all the products individually and below is a link for the subscription box if you were interested in having a look (I have also added my review on the previous box if you wanted more ideas of products you get with this subscription).

Beauteque Monthly – The Subscription Box With A Bit Of Everything

img_1605

Over the last year or so I have been wanting to get a monthly subscription box but when looking into it I have become overwhelmed and spoilt for choice. They can come in very expensive sometime for only a few sample sized products.

I really wanted something more!

Recognising the struggle my sister in-law SJ (Her Instagram is @sjmorgan89 if you want cute pics of skincare and makeup) came to the rescue. She is a massive fan of Korean skincare, has great skin herself and is generally a woman in the know about everything. SJ suggested I take a look at the Beauteque monthly website as they offer different types of subscription boxes depending on what you are looking for. One being the ‘mask maven’ box for $13.00 / £9.90 a month and the other being their ‘beauty box’ for $22.00 / £16.75 per month with no twelve month contract and being able to cancel whenever you wanted.

Knowing I was going off a good recommendation I took the plunge and ordered the beauty box, I am currently going into my third month of receiving these goodies and have never looked back.

Each month is based around a theme (July’s being Deep Detox), inside your box are six full sized products that are relevant to the theme and can range from skincare, make up to nail polish and sleep masks. All the products are available as separates on the Beauteque website so if you find something you really love it is so easy to restock.

The Deep Detox box consisted of :

Jayeon Bamboo Charcoal Konjac Sponge ($5.99 / £4.56) – When you first remove this sponge feels like a rock but once you leave to stand in water it puffs out and becomes a great exfoliating product. Due to the infusion of charcoal it really does help give your skin and intense clean whilst still being gentle and non abrasive.

Farm Stay Charcoal Pure Cleansing Foam ($11.99 / $9.13) 180ml – Use this with the sponge to achieve a deep clean. I have spot prone skin and when I first started using this cleanser I did get a breakout due to the detoxifying properties in the formula but after a few days this cleared up and my skin has stayed incredibly clear and blackhead free since.

Baviphat Urban Dollkiss Carbonated Charcoal Clay Mask ($20.00 / £15.23) 100ml – I have really enjoyed this mask. The tub is huge and you really do not need a lot of product for application as the clay is quite thick. It comes with a small spatula to apply and as it develops on the skin it is very fun watching it bubble. The mask gave my skin a radiance and left it feeling very clean and clear.

Purederm Charcoal Design Nose Pore Strips ($5.99 / £4.56) six strips – I can’t go into to much detail about these as I haven’t had the time to use them. I can say they remind me a lot like the traditional nose strips only are larger in size so they cover a bigger surface area of the nose and surrounding cheek. They do have a pretty design on the strip which makes them nice to look at and has me dying to try them so hopefully I will get the time soon.

Vacci Royal Luminant Auto Eyebrow Pencil ($8.99 / £6.85) full sized – One end is the eyebrow pencil and to the other is a spoolie both with lids so good for travelling. The barrel of the pencil is a lot thicker to other brow pencils I have and made application surprisingly easier, the colour was a little lighter then I would normally choose but blended well. The pencil is very soft and you don’t have to be firm to build up colour. The eye pencil was a nice little make up token in the skincare based set.

Siero Surface Moisture Mask Pack ($4.99 / £3.80) – Each month you get a sheet mask pack which comes with three elements this particular one comes with a peeling gel, a vitamin booster and then the sheet mask itself. The three step masks’ have become a favourite at home treatment for me. It’s a quick and easy way to gain the luxury “at a spa” feel whilst helping the skin to regain lost moisture and giving it some TLC.

Three months in and I still look forward to what is going to be in my latest Beauteque box. I love that every product is full sized, due to this you really have the chance to try out and make sure it is working for you before committing to buying. The different themes each month add to the excitement as you are never sure what you are going to get but know that each product will be used. I am so glad SJ gave me the heads up with this subscription box as they are really enjoyable and the perfect thing I was looking for.

Do you have a subscription box you love? Are you completely and utterly overwhelmed when trying to find the right one for you? (there are so many out there now) Let me know your thought on where you stand with subscription boxes in the comments below or on Twitter @Katesbeautyhome.

Hope you have enjoyed this post, the next will be up Friday.
